Asia Sustainability Forum 2022
Asia CEO Events in partnership with PropTech Consortium of the Philippines held its first in-person event at the Manila Marriott Hotel on June 23, 2022, with the theme: "The Future is Green or Not At All".
The event featured property developers who are building sustainable and green communities through the integration of technologies led by Emma Imperial Chair and CEO of Imperial Homes Group of Companies and the Chairperson and Co-Founder of PropTech Consortium, Founding Corporate Members of PropTech: Rosie Tsai President and CEO of CitiHomes Builder, and Development, Ricardo Lagdameo President, Real Estate and Construction of Damosa Land, David Rafael President and CEO of Aboitizland, Inc., Panel speaker Colin Steley Sustainability Director of Stratcon.ph and also a member of PropTech.
One of the highlights of the event was the keynote speech from Dr. Erik Haites, President of Margaree Consultants. He is the lead author of Chapter 13, National and
Sub-national Policies and Institutions of the 2022 report of Working Group III of the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Dr. Haites's key message was Greening the Philippines. He emphasized the need for the Philippines to have a net-zero target and to be net-zero by the Year 2050. Some possible strategies for the Philippines, start with sectors with low-cost options and long-lived assets such as electricity generation, new generating facilities, and buildings likely to last until 2050.
